Creating a commissioned artwork is very special and personal to the client. It is absolutely essential to get everything right so they can enjoy it on their wall for many years. Starting with a blank sheet, people put a lot of faith in what you can do, so to alleviate fears about the end result I always provide a range of options on design, size and if its to be pencil sepia or a full colour painting. Then presenting these options from any photographic elements, sketches etc. The finished painting shown was for a racehorse owner from his partner. At the start there was a variety of photographs they had collected over the years as best memories. Listening to their ideas initially and getting feedback from the options presented the draft of the chosen artwork was reached. All this work up front was rewarded with two very happy customers and a proud trainer and his wife.
